This unique BLT pizza recipe tastes like a classic BLT sandwich, but in pizza form! Saucy, savory, and flavorful with crispy bacon, fresh tomato, lettuce, and garlic aioli in every bite.
Lightly flour a rectangular baking sheet for the dough. Using floured hands, stretch the dough to fill the baking sheet.
Top the dough evenly with the crushed tomatoes, leaving about a half inch crust around the border. Use the back of a spoon to gently spread the sauce over the dough.
Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the pizza, and top with sliced tomatoes, chopped bacon, and a pinch of sea salt.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden.
Once the pizza has come out of the oven, top with lettuce and drizzle with garlic aioli. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
Notes
Slicing: Optionally, you can actually slice the pizza before topping with the shredded lettuce and garlic aioli. This will help to make the cutting, and serving process less messy! We like to use these handy pizza scissors to cut through homemade pizza - it helps make super clean cuts, and lets you cut the pizza right in the pan.Baking pizza: Oven temperatures vary enough that you'll want to keep an eye on your pizza during the last few minutes of cooking. It's always best to set your timer towards the earlier side, around 18 to 20 minutes, and then check every few minutes after that.Storing and reheating leftovers: BLT pizza can be kept in the fridge for up to 5 days. We like to store it in tupperware so that the toppings don’t get smushed. However, tinfoil works perfectly well for storing BLT pizza as well! Reheat leftovers in the oven at 350 degrees F for 10 to 15 minutes. You can heat the pizza with the lettuce and garlic aioli right on it. Our recommendation is to give it a fresh drizzle of aioli after reheating for extra flavor and moisture.
