Notes
Ingredient selection: A simple recipe like this needs fresh, high-quality ingredients to taste great. Make sure to pick the juiciest tomatoes, freshest basil, fluffiest bread, and highest quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar! Read our blog post above for more tips on selecting ingredients.Burrata: This appetizer specifically benefits from a high quality burrata cheese as well! We love Murray's burrata (you can buy it online here) for its creamy texture and sweet yet earthy flavor. Typical grocery store burrata just doesn't compare to gourmet or local cheese.Slicing the bread: You'll want crust on the bottom of each square of toast to help support the weight of the toppings. To do this, start by slicing the whole loaf of bread in half horizontally, so that you have two large pieces with plenty of crust on one side. Then, slice one half into roughly 2-inch square pieces.Drizzling EVOO & balsamic: We like to drizzle the EVOO diagonally across the toast in one direction, and the balsamic diagonally in the opposite direction! This creates a fun criss-cross pattern and good balance of flavors.Serving suggestions: Serve this fancy burrata toast appetizer for a dinner party or tapas night with friends and family. It's so easy to make and your guests will love the delicious, creamy burrata and crunchy toast!
