Notes
Mezcal: As with any cocktail, you should use a liquor that you enjoy! However if you are just getting into mezcal and don't know where to start, we recommend either Del Maguey Vida Clasicoor Vida Pueblaas they are both widely available at an entry level price point, and great for cocktails.Agave: We recommend using agave nectar; however, if you want to use an agave syrup you'll want to double the amount added to the drink, so instead of 1/4 ounce agave nectar, use 1/2 ounce agave syrup. For agave nectar we use Agave In The Raw. And for agave syrup we like Tres Agaves Agave Nectar, which is technically a syrup despite the name.Fiesta bitters: We love Vena’s Fiesta Bitters, but if you can't find them, you can substitute in classic angostura or orange bitters, or lean into more Mexican flavored bitters such as habanero or mole.
